Once that is determined you can go to the manufacture's website and locate the driver for you OS version.
I bet if you reinstalled Win 7 or 8 the network adapter wouldn't work in of those OS's either. Network adapter driver not properly installed. Win 10 sees there is a piece of hardware but can't access it. I went to device manager and under other devices there was the "Ethernet Controller" listed with an exclamation mark next to it. Windows 10, 64 bit CPU: Results 1 to 3 of 3.

The other thing to keep in mind is just about all of the other Manufacturers put out a board and then the Basic drivers and drop it or in the case of a couple like Gigabyte up until 2 years ago they didn't even have a support section to get drivers from.
