When I installed Windows hd-auudio, my sound stopped working and when I went in to troubleshoot and add the drivers to try and get it working again, it would not install the drivers for the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio sound card. When I open Volume Mixer it reads: I understand that the Headphones option is not available in Volume mixer and it's a brand new Headphones.
